Empowered women are robust engines who drive strong, productive, and nurturing families and foster effective community peace-building. The act of empowering Darfuri women will help their families and their communities flourish. We promise to use awareness, education and personal empowerment to assist the women of Darfur in rising above adversity and re-establish flourishing communities. DWN works to make the local and international community aware of Darfur, its women, and their needs. DWN would also like to make the Darfuri population aware of the global community, how it functions and where they can obtain assistance for positive growth. DWN sees education as the most effective and essential tool for the women of Darfur to achieve sustainable development, social change, and conflict transformation, whether they have remained in Darfur or relocated.
The DWN has several short and long-term goals. However, assisting families who struggle in insecure situations to procure their most basic needs is dire; therefore, we greatly focus on serving these survivors. DWN can efficiently work with these families since it is not hampered by the linguistic, cultural, and customary barriers other non-native organizations might face.
