Solar Panels for Refugees
During the summertime, when school is out, students work on memorizing the Quran. The girls work on it in the day time, and the boys learn at night. The main challenge to this activity is the lack of light at night, not enough Qurans, and students often sitting in the sand.
Burning wood for light wastes precious resources. It also risks the safety of women and girls who forage for firewood. To alleviate the problem, we provided solar panels and lights. We also gave rugs to sit on and more Qurans to share.
As a part of this drive, we also fixed leaky roofs and trained 26 people on the upkeep up local community centers.
If you donated to this drive, please accept a heartfelt thank you from us on behalf of the refugees we serve.
